Creativity excites, energises and enriches me. Ever since I can remember I always felt I had to do something that put creativity at the centre of my life.
In 1986 I went to art college and spent four years studying graphic design. That course gave me a deep and broad education, not only in the graphic arts but across many other creative disciplines including drawing, painting and photography.
Much of the art I now make leans towards an expression of nature and the feelings and emotions it evokes. I mainly use colour non-naturalistically and am concerned with the search for spontaneity and vibrancy. To do that I mainly use acrylics and mixed media - coloured pencils, oil pastels and more. In some of my paintings I explore the idea of ‘imagined’ or ‘dream’ landscapes.
I live very close to nature with my wife and daughter in the South East of England.
